PORTABLE TRIAGE PROGRAM
March 2004
The Massachusetts ENA State Council is very
excited to announce the Portable triage course
Surviving and Thriving at Triage is now available for
Massachusetts ENA members, chapters and hospitals. We developed
this program in response to the needs of our members for triage
education that is convenient, cost-effective and up-to-date.
The packet includes guidelines for coordinating the course, a
suggested timeline, budget suggestions, lecture description,
objectives, outline and references/resources, contact information
for speakers, form letters to speakers and registrants, some
reproducible handouts and a Memorandum of Understanding. We have
also included a survey for course coordinators and planning
committee members to complete so that we can gather feedback and
continue to create a product that meets our members needs.
The Memorandum of Understanding delineates responsibilities of
the course coordinator/planning committee and Massachusetts ENA
State Council. You will have a resource person available to
answer any questions and provide help in coordinating the course.
In addition to providing the course material, Massachusetts ENA
will complete, submit and pay the fee for the CECH application
from ENA. This application needs to be submitted to ENA at least
6 weeks before the course is run. In order to complete the
application we need a list of speakers from the course
coordinator and planning committee.
If you are interested in coordinating a triage course, simply
complete and send the course request form to Robin Walsh. If you
have any questions about the course contents, the course process,
or coordinating the course please feel free to contact me either
by e-mail or phone.
The Massachusetts ENA State Council also plans to have available
in a similar format, the CEN Review course that we have provided
in the past. Watch our website and newsletter for updates.
Thanks,
Robin Walsh
