Donna Zimmerman is resigning from chair of Education for
NERS 2007. She is moving to
Gail Lenehan and Anne Manton have agreed to co-chair Education Committee for NERS 2007.
Education Committee report: All speakers are confirmed for the conference.
At last conference call there was discussion to raise speaker fees. After discussion it was decided to keep fee at $200 and if we make money may offer a little extra to help with travel expenses, etc. The panel will receive $100 each. Note: One speaker may have been offered $250.
A contingency plan was discussed in case a speaker cancelled at the last minute. Some suggestions included: Kay, End of Life issues, Nicky, Strange Diagnosis, Jeannie and Faye, Decreasing Stress at Work, Diane, Critical Thinking at Triage and just in case Gail for Keynote. Education committee will have a list of topics and speakers for each day.
What a wealth of knowledge in MA ENA alone
Stationery is printed and letters will be sent to speakers.
Hospitality report: Have several “extra” fun items for the conference.
Tuesday evening: Pre-conference wine & cheese in the hospitality room.

Thursday: Freddy and the Maybellines, dessert and drinks (cash bar) in the evening.
Afternoon is free for folks to shop or explore on own. Committee is working on coupon books for local attractions. Freddy and Maybellines need a 10% deposit on $1600 fee by March1,07.
Publicity report:Kay has to resign as publicity chair. Robyn will assume responsibility until a new chair is appointed or volunteers. Anyone interested please contact Robyn.
Brochure needs to be ready by mid January to send out and some can be brought to Leadership in March. Robyn needs the information regarding Speakers/times and cost of program by Dec 1st so can go to printer on time.

Vendor/Exhibitor report. There are 10 paid vendors for a total of $8,125 (owed $650 still).

vendors have paperwork in progress. Both Stryker and Sanofi cannot submit
paperwork until
Shirts for NERS committee members were proposed. These are cranberry with MA ENA logo, Button front men’s dress shirt style. Suggests committee members order on own, appox. $35. Faye will get the info and send to all NERS and MA State Council members. They can be worn at both Leadership and NERS.
After much discussion, it was estimated that the final cost for NERS 2007 would be $56,000 for 250 attendees and $46,500 for 150 attendees.
Fees to be charged for the 3-day program would be $275 for ENA members before March 1st and $295 after March 1st registration. For non-ENA members $315 before March 1st and $340 after March 1st. Non-ENA fee will apply to all non nursing attendees such as paramedic, emt’s, students etc. A one-day fee of $125 for ENA and $150 for non-ENA members would also be offered.
