The   33rd annual New England Regional Symposium will be held in Massachusetts on April 25, 26 & 27th, 2007.  The Program Committee is seeking speakers for this, and future NERS.

Are you an expert in some area of Emergency Nursing Practice?  Please send us an informal note telling us about your topic, your background and expertise in the topic, as well as where/when you have spoken in the past.

      Topics should:

n              be primarily clinical and of great interest to most emergency nurses

n              include the implications for emergency nursing practice

n              include pearls of wisdom, pitfalls, and mistakes we can all learn from, based on

evidence and experience

n              be about what emergency nurses need to know right now,  vs. what would be nice to know

Presentations can also include

n              Descriptions of innovative programs that have been successful in your department (eg., new triage initiatives, expediting patients’ stay in the emergency department, tackling medication reconciliation)

n              2 or 3 member panels on how emergency departments are dealing with overcrowding, backup, etc.

n              Clinical point / counterpoints

If we are not able to have you speak at this conference, we will add your name to a speaker list to be considered for future NERS.

Do you know of a dynamic speaker who has presented valuable information?    We would appreciate recommendations for speakers, and topics as well.

Don’t put this email aside.  Take a few minutes now to send your information to the 2007 NERS Program Committee at:  glenehan@comcast.net, no later than August 1, 2006..

Thank you for helping to make our conference successful!  We look forward to seeing you in historic Plymouth, MA next spring for dynamic lectures, the camaraderie of emergency nurses from throughout New England, and, of course,  lobster, whale watches, wine tasting and much more!
