1. Dates for 2007 State Council meetings and conference calls	State Council meetings: February 14^th April 18^th June 20^th September 19^th November 14^th Executive Comm Conference Calls: January 17^th March 21^st May 23^rd July 18^th October 17^th December 19th
2. Important Dates in 2007	*Leadership in Boston Feb 22^nd – 25^th *NERS 2007 April 25^th – 27^th *Scientific Assembly Sept 26^th – 29^th (Salt Lake City)
3. State/Chapter Leaders Orientation or Leadership Transition 2007	The group did not have any recommendations. Robin and Faye will discuss and make decisions
4. Leadership 2007 in Boston – What is MENA role and responsibility? * Welcome to Boston – small gift bags for those attending State leaders meeting – probably around 200 people (state and chapter officers) * MENA members wear common shirts, let others know we are available for questions, directions, etc *State pins – have made and distribute; buying in bulk relatively inexpensive; can also be used at NERS * Host a party for State Leaders?	Further discussion deferred until November 15^th State Council meeting which will have a larger group with more ideas/input
5. Massachusetts Annual State Awards No nominations were received (information in last 2 newsletters and on web site)	Target nurse managers next year – send letters to them and to each ED Offer ENA membership to winners
6. Karen O’Neil Scholarship Clarification of process; several have submitted applications after program and the guidelines clearly state that the application must be received before the event	In next newsletter, write piece about Scholarship. Include information about guidelines and application process
7. Karen O”Neil Professionalism Award Looking for nomination(s) – will vote on at Leadership in Feb (by each NE state president)	Please submit recommendations to Robin or Faye as soon as possible so letter of recommendation can be written.
8. Recruitment/Retention: Our membership has declined to under 700 (loss during last 3 months) Target members whose membership is nearing renewal. Make phone calls as reminders Need creative ideas!	State Council discussion Target Nurse Managers Encourage Committee membership Robin will continue to work with National on methods to identify these people and communicating with members - And will work with Julie Bunn and membership comm. on communicating with members
9. What is the role of the Board of Directors? In past, acted as liaisons to chapters, committees. In 2007 work to implement this program – spread resources; identify expectations	Limited discussion Will continue at later date
