Discussion:
Logo received almost the same
votes for # 2or 3. It was decided that a decision needed to be made and a vote
was taken.
Number
3 will be the logo minus the seagulls and NERS 2007 on the rock.
Gina will contact Kay with the
decision and ask Kay to check that the logo can be transferred to embroidery
for bags, shirts etc and to be made into a pin.
Gina will ask Kay if she knows someone to do embroidery and for a quote.
Faye and Deb also will check with
people they know and get a price quote as well.
Everyone is asked to get back to Gina
and Julie with their quotes by
Theme: “ENA rocks in
Registration: Need a contact
person listed in both JEN and website for registration requests. That person
will be Deb Delaney, Gina will contact Deb for the
correct address she would like to use for NERS registration and requests for
information.
Do not have capability of taking
credit cards for registration. The brochures will say “mail check to …”
Stationery: Chairpersons are
listed on the NERS stationery, usually on the left hand margin and the bottom of the stationery has
the date of the NERS program and location.
Need the correct spelling of names and program title for this purpose. All
chairpersons please email Kay with program title and correct spelling of your
name as you wish to see it listed.
Checking Account: Need to
establish a checking account for NERS. Phyllis and Jay will open an account in
bank near the hotel. Phyllis and Jay will have check
writing approval on account. Phyllis has a check form NERS 2006 waiting to
deposit. Julie and Gina will contact them and suggest the bank to be used so account
can be opened.
Budget: Gina is reworking the
estimated budget based on 140 participants rather than 200. Feels this may be
more realistic, 200 feels ambitious but everyone is
hopeful.
Hospitality: New contact person
at the hotel. The hospitality folks are researching several options for
entertainment either included in the NERS registration fee and as add-ons or do on your own time events. Some
suggestions mentioned were: discount coupon book for local shops, wine tasting
party, Plimouth Plantation event, walking ghost tour,
dinner show and/or dinner dance. Planning members are encouraged to look at the
website Mysweetmelissa.com to view a clip of one of the bands hospitality is
considering as an alternative to The Maybellines who
do a show.
Vendor
sponsorship of an event my help to defray some expenses,
Hospitality was asked to put together
a proposal to present at the NERS planning meeting in September before state
council.
Vendors: Have sent 72 letters
requesting their support, so far only one response. It was suggested that all
committee members have a copy of the vendor letter so they can share with any
vendors they currently have a relationship with at their employers. Also vendor
letters should be brought to
Publicity: It was suggested
that NERS 2007 should have a poster display and post cards for San Antonio
Scientific Assembly.
Education: Had a conference call in July and are
working on finding speakers and interesting topics. Have sent
out a request to all
It was decided that there would be no

to the September meeting. They are planning a conference call for mid-August.
